This beginning reader has characters and artwork based on the series by Tad Hills. One day when playing in the meadow, Rocket the dog and Bella the squirrel find an egg by the pond in the meadow. The egg is described and shown as small, white, and oval. Rocket and Bella check with many birds in the trees around the meadow, they check with the hens in the coop, even the ducks in the pond.
