Then she hears his voice on the radio and decides she is going to find a way to meet him. The start of this story is a bit slow but if the reader sticks with it, they will be rewarded. Maybelle’s journey and her friendships that blossom between a class bully and strict teacher will make you tear up, laugh and root for her to find what she is looking for.
