Florence the firefly is lost and needs help finding her way home. Young readers will enjoy helping her find her way in this beautifully illustrated, interactive picture book.  As Florence flies around looking for lights, she makes her way across the ocean, follows a train,  goes into the city , and finally to a park where she makes a wish upon a shooting star.  Happily, she finds out that the shooting stars are her firefly friends  and she will be able to follow them home. The illustrations which are digitally created are spot on. The background pages are deep, magical shades of a blueish purple color that set off the shimmering fireflies. The fireflies are very sweet with large eyes and of course magical wings and a shimmering tail that sprinkles fire fly light across the pages just like fairy dust. An excellent choice for story time read alouds.

A standout picture book that will keep readers engaged…over and over again.  A  excellent choice for story time read alouds that has plenty of opportunities for audience participation. Highly recommended purchase for all libraries.  Geared to readers  ages three to six, but enjoyable for all ages.
